This is very clever - seems like a lot of people are using "the island" as inspiration this week! But there are details I like in here; Miguel's dialogue, the object that was taken, Freddie's incredulous nature, all of that. That gives this island piece some life, a sense of being there, and I think that's what makes this such a pleasure to read.

(I'll drink the coffee if no one else wants it, lol. I'm on the other side, but save a cup for me!) ;)
